The UAE passport has climbed up in global rankings and is now the third most powerful in the passport index, according to new data released by Arton Capital. The UAE passport has also maintained its place as the most powerful passport in the Arab world.
The passport index rated the UAE with a mobility score of 167, which meant that it allows its holder to enter 167 countries around the world, including 107 countries without a prior visa, and 54 countries with visas to be obtained online or upon arrival.

The Passport Index’s Mobility Score (MS) is based on adding two key figures – the number of countries for which a passport has visa-free entry (VF) and the number it can obtain a visa on arrival (VOA).
Despite the challenges of travel amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the UAE has successfully opened its doors to tourism and commercial activities and resumed operations at international airports.

The passport index of Arton Capital ranked five other countries in second place, including Germany, Finland, Sweden, Italy and South Korea, who all received a mobility score of 163. and eleven passports were ranked third including Denmark, Austria, Luxembourg, Spain, France, Netherlands, Belgium, Japan, Poland, New Zealand, Australia, with a score of 162. Statistics further revealed that first country was ranked as the first most powerful passport is the UAE passport with a mobility score of 167.

“It is safe to say that the worst of the Covid-19 pandemic is behind us, as we see more and more countries safely opening up their borders,” said Armand Arton, founder and president of Arton Capital, and creator of The Passport Index.
